What is a PANCo?
The Physical Activity and Nutrition Coordinator (PANCo) is a new role for Early Years Staff and the aim is to have a PANCo within each setting. The PANCo champions best practice in physical activity and nutrition and acts as the agent for change. They lead positive change to ensure an environment and ethos that supports the prevention of obesity and health and well-being of children, families, and staff.
How can I support the development of the PANCo role?
As a training provider, we ask you to support the new role of the PANCo by:
- Encouraging learners to continually develop in their role as a qualified PANCo through the PANCo Competency Framework.
- Encouraging students on the EYAP 2 unit to join the free PANCo Network, via the website. This enables students to network beyond the classroom and encourages sharing of good practice, ideas, and support whilst studying.
- Sign up to the website to find out more about our services and resources that are available to you i.e. Train the Trainer workshops for your organisation, (link to events page), lesson plans, online training and CPD for tutors.
